Easy Keto Pizza

Easy, low carb, keto friendly pizza, with a fluffy crust (American style pizza), gluten free, wheat flour free, diabetic friendly!

Who does not like pizza ... the one with the crispy fluffy base, melted cheese and salami.


You can find many low carb versions on the internet for this Italian dish.


The most famous keto pizza crust is the "fathead dough crust" which is made with melted mozzarella cheese.


The recipe that follows is an easy variation of this dough, which in my opinion, is the most fluffy and delicious version for an American style pizza.


That's, the pizza with the thick and fluffy crust.. not the one with the extra thin crust.


You don't have to melt the cheese for this mixture. You only have to just mix all the ingredients in a bowl.


If you want to make American-style pizza, you have to bake the base in a medium sized baking pan, not just spread the mixture on a baking sheet.


By this way the pizza crust will not burn all around and will rise evenly.


In the attached You Tube video you can watch the same recipe but for the thin crispy pizza crust version.


Also, depending on the size of the pan that you will use, you will have to adjust the quantities of the ingredients.


For a 23X33 cm baking pan (you will have 3 portions, or 9 pieces), I used the ingredients with the quantities listed below.



Easy Keto Pizza


Servings: 3 (9 pieces)


• Ingredients for the base:


3 / Eggs


60 g / Almond flour


70 g / Grated hard cheese

(Parmesan or Grana Padano)


140 g / Mozzarella cheese (grated)

1/2 tsp / Baking powder


1/2 tsp / Oregano or basil (optional)


1/4 tsp / Garlic spice (optional).


1-3 tbsp / Water ( if needed to spread the mixture easily).

• Pizza sauce ingredients:


1- 2 tbsp / Tomato paste


1 Tbsp / Olive oil


2 Tbsp / Water


1/6 tsp / Salt


Pepper


Dried basil and garlic (optional)

• Instructions for the tomato sauce:


Just mix all the ingredients for the tomato sauce in a small bowl.



• Instructions for the pizza crust:


1 Preheat the oven to 180° C (fan assisted)


2 Prepare a 23x33 cm baking pan.


3 Mix all the ingredients for the pizza base and spread the mixture in the baking pan. The mixture must have the same thickness everywhere.


4 Bake the pizza base for about 15 minutes or until golden brown (depending on the oven).


6 When the pizza crust is ready, take it out of the oven and spread the tomato sauce on its surface.


7 Then put on top all the ingredients of your choice, such as grated cheese, salami, mushrooms, peppers etc.


8 Continue baking for about 10-15 minutes and the tasty pizza is ready!


Serve and enjoy!
